Tulip Navigation Rally and Breakfast Meeting

29/04/18 At last Tearooms
81 Church Street
Peterborough
PE4 6QE
EATOC

Preparations for this are almost complete, the route is now planned and has been test driven.
There have been a few changes, the start location has moved - this is for two reasons, one it is next to 2 filling stations, the second is the original location wanted £15 for a breakfast and pre-booking, the Paul Pry is £9 and they just need to know how many are turning up.

The plan for the day is as follows:

Meet at the Tearooms for 8:30 with the aim of getting breakfast around 9, and to leave about 10AM.

You will get the route map as you are about to leave - as there is only one way off the front of the venue up to a roundabout so the first few hundred yards will be impossible to get wrong.

The route map will be sparse as if I put key locations on the map then the locals will figure out where they are going.

The route is just over 70 miles and should take about 2 hours - the end point has a suitable car park and place for refreshments.

There will be a sealed location to tell you where to go if you get completely lost.

lincs 2018

The Lincolnshire route has now been finalised. In essence it is the same as last years run with a couple of deviations.

The start point is Rachel and Griff's house where we can use the farmyard as a parking area. Please note if you use a satnav approach from the south (A47) or the Tiger will get stuck on the track and you will be front page news in next month's club magazine.

The start time for the run is 10AM and the total length of the run is 141.5 miles, we have put two fuel stops in the route the first at 68 miles and the second at the end of the route. Both of which are large fuel stations with plenty of room.

The lunch stop is at the jug and bottle (where we stopped last year). On the way back we will be stopping at Mablethorpe for a mid afternoon break, before heading back to the finish at the A17,A16 junction services.

For this year we have a formal club area booked in - we have done this in conjunction with the East Anglian Kit Car Club so have a total of 20 spaces between the two groups to hand out. Please note to take advantage of the club parking area you need to book via Giles. If you book via the website you will be parked in the general classic car parking area. As the spaces go I will update a list on here so everyone knows which cars are booked.

The price is £10 per person - not per car. Please also note I need the payment by the middle of July at the latest. So I can pay the organisers and get the passes back out to everyone.

The Derbyshire run route has now been finalised and is available to download via the website - please note you will need a myrouteapp.com login and be a member of the EATOC group to access it.

The route is a complete change from last year, we are no longer starting in Ripley.

This year we are starting from the services at the A38/A50 junction DE65 6DX. This is the only scheduled fuel stop - the run itself is 85 miles so well within range. We finish at a Sainsbury Supermarket with a petrol station.

If you are journeying from the Peterborough direction then there is an initial meeting point at the Marks and Spencer / BP Garage on the Oakham Bypass LE15 7FS at 8AM , then we will contine via Melton, Kegworth etc.

Adding the events calendar to your mobile device

These instructions are provided without liability - EATOC take no responsbility for any damages / issues with your device by following the information below

Apple iPhone/iPad, Apple Mac, PC running Outlook, PC running Mozilla Thunderbird

This is the easy method is go to the link tinyurl.com/eatoc2012 and then you will get a prompt to subscribe to the calendar. Agree to this and every time the master copy is updated the calendar on your device will update as well.

Android Mobile Phone

After some work I made a google calendar which replicates the Apple version running above. This doesn't require an app to function and should be easy. Go to the link here and then you will get a prompt to subscribe to the calendar. Agree to this and every time the master copy is updated the calendar on your device will update as well.

Blackberry phones

You could try the Android phone link above and it might work, however I can't guarantee it and haven't a suitable device to test it. If anyone knows of a caldav app for one of these then it should work without issues but I can't seem to locate one at present. - and blackberry don't officially support it. It might be possible to sync a PC to the calendar and then sync that to the blackberry but I don't really know.
