Tulip Map Run

14/08/21 At Last tea rooms
Church Street
Werrington
Peterborough
PE4 6QE
EATOC

So what is it?

The navigation run uses a form of instructions called tulip maps. These are symbols informing you of junctions and the distance you need to travel to get to the next point.

At the start you will be given the instructions and nothing else, folllow them carefully and everyone should end up at the same location (I will give an overview on the morning of the run)

The cafe opens at 9AM. If you don't want to eat then please arrive for 9:30AM

They will have the following selection available

Tea £2.20
Coffee £2.45
Bacon Roll £3.20
Sausage Bap £3.95

At the start you can either park on the road, or in the pub car park opposite the cafe. If you are parking in the pub car park you need to register with a terminal in the cafe or you will get fined. Note the route will start from the cafe going past the church (so park facing the right direction). There is a petrol station at the end of the road.

What do you need?

For this event you will need a navigator - you can try and do it solo but it is strongly discouraged and potentially dangerous.

I would also look at getting a clipboard and a pen that will write on laminated paper so you can cross off the instructions as you pass each one.

If it rains bring a car with a roof (hopefully not as we are doing it in August)

The route:

The route distance this year is 61 miles, and should take about 2 hours to complete.

At the end point you will be able to get refreshments.

What I do need is to know the number of cars expected, as everyone will need a copy of the instructions and they can’t be printed that quickly. So if you want to attend then please email me.

The AGM will move back to a physical event this year, and will be held at the Old Ferryboat the same venue as the monthly meetings.

We have the function room at the back booked, and have been asked by the pub that if you wish to eat before the meeting can you please book wth them directly - you do not need to place an order for an exact meal but it will allow them to control numbers so the kitchens aren’t overwhelmed with orders.

Call the pub on 01480 463227 and state you are with the Tiger Owners Club / EATOC for the AGM when reserving your space.
